One of the biggest advantages to playing live dealer poker as opposed to virtual poker, is the opportunity to become fully immersed in the thrilling environment that often accompanies a hot poker game. The video streaming runs smoothly and features a full HD display, giving you the most realistic live poker experience possible. Once you have initiated your poker live stream, you will see a real poker table in front of you, complete with a real live poker dealer behind it. The poker dealer is there to control the flow of the game, deal the cards, turn over hole cards, announce the winners, and the losers of every hand. Interestingly, while there may be many players at the table, you will only be able to see the dealer, as well as your own hand of course.
However, you still get to see real cards on the table and, depending on the version of the game being played, will allow you to pit your skills against other players or the house, live and in real time. Live dealer poker is designed to be played just like normal poker at a brick and mortar casino or poker room and is a slightly slower pace than our virtual poker games are. This is because you are dealing with real humans and not a computer software simulation.
Basic Live Dealer Poker Rules
The basic rules of live dealer poker are the same as you would find with regular poker rules used in brick and mortar casinos and at poker clubs. Games are played with a 52 card deck and the deck is shuffled after each game. Players bet on the Ante and the dealer will deal two face up cards directly to each player, as well as two face down cards to the dealer’s position. The dealer then deals a further three cards, known as the community cards. These community cards are dealt face up. Each player can then decide to continue playing by calling, or stop playing by folding their hand. After this round two more community cards are issued by the dealer, who will then also reveal the other two face down cards. Each player can then form the best hand possible based on their own two cards and the community cards, to make a five card hand.
